AEW 2025 Welcomes Tinubu: Shaping the Future of African Energy

African Energy Week (AEW) 2025 is set to host Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who will address delegates at Africa’s premier energy event in Cape Town.

His presence comes as Nigeria undergoes groundbreaking reforms in oil, gas, and energy, aiming to reposition the nation as a global investment hub.

Since taking office, President Tinubu has implemented policies to cut project costs by 40%, secure over $8 billion in deepwater investments, and revive domestic refining to enhance energy security.

“Nigeria under President Tinubu is showing the world how decisive policy reforms can directly translate into investor confidence and tangible project commitments,” stated NJ Ayuk, Executive Chairman of the African Energy Chamber.

Recent commitments from industry giants ExxonMobil ($1.5 billion), Shell, and Chevron highlight renewed confidence in Nigeria’s evolving landscape.

Nigeria’s energy sector overhaul is unlocking unprecedented investment opportunities, driving industrial growth, and strengthening Africa’s position in the global energy market.

The upcoming AEW 2025 conference will provide invaluable insights into the nation’s long-term energy strategy and its vision for sustainable development.
