From 17 to 20 November 2025 will see Cape Town’s CTICC play host to the International Commodity Summit (ICS2025), a dynamic convention that will set the tone for new dynamics between global commodity markets and Africa’s resource-based economy.
With more than 1,200 delegates anticipated and industry represented from mining and metals to finance and trade the ICS2025 places South Africa at the center of the commodity diplomacy, investment convergence, and market vision landscape.
The overall configuration of the summit, which will subsequently merge with the Africa Energy Indaba, foretells a new era of intersectoral cooperation but commodity agenda takes the lead.
ICS2025, which is supported by Hibarri, arrives at a critical juncture for the world’s supply chains. As the demand for metals such as cobalt, lithium, and copper continues to grow faster, and geopolitics reshapes the pattern of trade, the summit creates a platform for the producers, traders, and regulators to re-examine plans.
Participants will engage in hot debates regarding market volatility, points of congestion in infrastructure, and the extent of African exports in a decarbonization landscape.
“This is not just a merger of events it’s a merger of markets,” said Liz Hart, Managing Director of the Africa Energy Indaba. “We’re creating a space where miners meet power producers, where governments meet financiers, and where Africa’s resource story is told with clarity and ambition.”
The summit hosts bilateral investment forums, policy roundtables, and dealmaking areas proportionate to the needs of African producers and global buyers.
The agenda to be addressed will span from export reform to ESG compliance, logistics modernization, and the role of African commodities in global energy transition plans.
While the Africa Energy Indaba will be partner, ICS2025 spearheads. Its focus on upstream production, trade flows, and commodity finance puts the platform poised for broader integration with energy markets.
The partnership will allow miners to connect with power sector investors, and financiers to test both markets in aggregate but ICS2025 is the platform on which resource-sector debate occurs.
With the clock counting down, Cape Town prepares to host a summit that will not only be regional but global in its stakes. ICS2025 is not an event on a schedule it’s a turning point of strategy for Africa’s role in the world commodity of the future. And in fewer than four weeks from today, that future begins taking form.
